An Open Letter Thanking God For Jesus...

Dear Heavenly Father,

If I were to leave this world today, tomorrow, or the next day, my last two words to you would be “thank you.” If you’re wondering why thanking you is what I would say in the last moments of my life, here’s why.

God Almighty, there are many blessings that you have bestowed upon me that I extremely thankful for, but the one blessing that you not only gave me, but the rest of the world is the one that has granted us everlasting love, peace, happiness, and forgiveness and that is the birth and resurrection of your son, Jesus Christ.

Father, your son is perfect in more ways than one. Jesus is a flawless man who wanted and strived to tell the world about you and your beautiful kingdom. He does not judge, criticize, discriminate or turn anyone away because he came from you, a God that is filled with pure perfection, purity, and love. No one and nothing compares to our Lord and Messiah.

The world, however, was (and still is) broken. Sinners back then had no desire or passion for your word, and have done everything that is evil in your eyes. They were not perfect, and while they have been born with sin (just like we are today), they fell into temptation with no remorse and carried on with their shameful ways. As a father, you wanted to save your children but didn’t know what else to do. After years of constant disciplining and forgiving, you were at the end of your rope just like any parent who is stressed and worried about their kids.

That all changed when a sacrifice was made. A sacrifice that was so horrifying and terrifying, because the person who died in that sacrifice was your one and only son. Father, you sent Jesus Christ, the most beautiful and wonderfully made person that has ever graced the earth, to be sacrificed for our sins. Jesus was brutally and vulgarly tortured at the hands of sinners in order for them to be saved. Jesus paid the price that we should’ve paid, but because he took our place in a punishment that we should receive, we have your forgiveness forever and always.

Father, I know that I am not going anywhere for a long time, which is why I wrote this letter. Today, the Lord Jesus Christ has risen from the dead and because of this, we are saved. God, my thankfulness for you and Jesus goes beyond explanation. I can’t even imagine how hard it must have been for you to see your son suffer from birth to death, but because you sent Jesus to spread the word, die at the cross, and cheat death, we will always be forgiven (even on our worst days) and join you and Christ in Heaven one day.

Heavenly Father, I’m not a perfect Christian. I will never compare to you and Jesus, but what I do know is that in due time I will be the servant you two want me to be, because every time I remember what Christ did for me at the cross, I will become even stronger to combat temptation. God, thank you for being my Father, and for sending your one and only son to save us all. Happy Easter! 🐰🐣

P.S.- Jesus, if you’re reading this letter with your Father, I would like to thank you for spending every moment of your life spreading God’s word, and for enduring all kinds of pain to save me. I love you! ❤️

Love,

Alexa
